Like most Semitic scripts, it is an <a href="page.php?w=abjad">abjad</a>, where each symbol stands for a consonant, leaving the reader to supply the appropriate vowel. Only after an aleph the vowel is indicated (<b>a, 'i, 'u). With other consonants one can often guess the unwritten vowel,</b></p><p>
