<p>The first three are commonly grouped together, as the Samhitas comprising the four Vedas: rg, atharvan, yajus, saman, which together constitute the oldest texts in Sanskrit and the canonical foundation both of the Vedic religion, and the later religion known as Hinduism.</p>
