<p>The mimeograph became popular because it was much cheaper than traditional print - there was neither <a href="page.php?w=typesetting">typesetting</a> nor skilled labor involved. One individual with a <a href="page.php?w=typewriter">typewriter</a> and the necessary equipment became their own printing factory, allowing for greater circulation of printed material.</p>
