<p>A typical noun phrase consists of a noun (the <a href="page.php?w=head_%28linguistics%29">head</a> of the phrase) together with zero or more dependents of various types. (These dependents, since they modify a noun, are called adnominal.) The chief types of these dependents are:<br/>
