went into the East India Company's service after 1660 and died while captain of the George in the Indian Ocean. Wager was in the ''Britannia'', Admiral Edward Russell's flagship, in 1692, took part in the battle of Barfleur, and was made post captain on 7 June.

The year 1693 saw Wager in command of the Samuel and Henry (44 guns), in which
