<p><a href="page.php?w=Pythagoreanism">Pythagorean</a> philosophers held a number of different views on the structure of the universe, but each included a sphere of fixed stars as its boundary. <a href="page.php?w=Philolaos">Philolaos</a>  proposed a universe which <a href="page.php?w=Pythagorean_astronomical_system">had at its center a central fire</a>, invisible to man.
