<p>The earliest hatching system was developed by <a href="page.php?w=Jan_Baptist_Zangrius">Jan Baptist Zangrius</a>, a copperplate engraver, publisher, typographer and bookseller from <a href="page.php?w=Leuven">Leuven</a>, in 1600.  The hatching systems of Petra Sancta and de la Colombière</p><p>
