The Rigveda embeds the musical meter too, without the kind of elaboration found in the Samaveda. For example, the <a href="page.php?w=Gayatri_mantra">Gayatri mantra</a> contains three metric lines of exactly eight syllables, with an embedded ternary rhythm.</p>
