For beverages that are degraded by oxygen, such as beer, a multilayer structure is used. PET sandwiches an additional <a href="page.php?w=polyvinyl_alcohol">polyvinyl alcohol</a> (PVOH) or <a href="page.php?w=polyamide">polyamide</a> (PA) layer to further reduce its oxygen permeability.</p><p>
