<p>In AD 590, <a href="page.php?w=Pope_Gregory_I">Pope Gregory I</a> revised this list into the form that has become common. He combined <i>tristitia</i> with <i>acedia</i>; combined <i>vanagloria</i> with <i>superbia</i>; and added envy, which is <i>invidia</i> in Latin.
