Near-UV radiation is visible to insects, some mammals, and some <a href="page.php?w=Bird_vision">birds</a>. Birds have a fourth color receptor for ultraviolet rays; this, coupled with eye structures that transmit more UV gives smaller birds "true" UV vision.</p>
