It was the first commercially available version of <a href="page.php?w=Ethernet">Ethernet</a>. The technology was standardized first by <a href="page.php?w=Ecma_International">Ecma International</a> in early 1982 based on an IEEE draft standard, then by IEEE in 1983 as <a href="page.php?w=IEEE_802.3">IEEE 802.3</a>.</p><p>
