<p><b>Dependency grammar</b> (<b>DG</b>) is a class of modern <a href="page.php?w=Grammar">grammatical</a> theories that are all based on the dependency relation (as opposed to the constituency relation of <a href="page.php?w=Phrase_structure_grammar">phrase structure</a>) and that can be traced back primarily to the work of <a href="page.php?w=Lucien_Tesni%C3%A8re">Lucien Tesnière</a>.
