Givens rotations are named after <a href="page.php?w=Wallace_Givens">Wallace Givens</a>, who introduced them to numerical analysts in the 1950s while he was working at <a href="page.php?w=Argonne_National_Laboratory">Argonne National Laboratory</a>.</p>
