<p><b>Grassmann's law</b>, named after its discoverer <a href="page.php?w=Hermann_Grassmann">Hermann Grassmann</a>, is a <a href="page.php?w=Dissimilation_%28phonology%29">dissimilatory</a> <a href="page.php?w=phonological_process">phonological process</a> in <a href="page.php?w=Ancient_Greek">Ancient Greek</a> and <a href="page.php?w=Sanskrit">Sanskrit</a> which states that if an <a href="page.php?w=Aspiration_%28phonetics%29">aspirated</a> consonant is followed by another aspirated consonant in the next syllable, the first one loses the aspiration.</p><p>
