<p><b>Ivory carving</b> is the carving of <a href="page.php?w=ivory">ivory</a>, that is to say animal tooth or <a href="page.php?w=tusk">tusk</a>, generally by using sharp cutting tools, either mechanically or manually. Objects carved in ivory are often called "ivories".</p>
