<p><b>Kellia</b> ("the Cells"), referred to as "the innermost desert", was a 4th-century Egyptian Christian <a href="page.php?w=Christian_monasticism">monastic</a> community spread out over many square kilometers in the <a href="page.php?w=Nitrian_Desert">Nitrian Desert</a> about 65 km south of <a href="page.php?w=Alexandria">Alexandria</a>.
