His <a href="page.php?w=hit_record">hit</a> tune "<a href="page.php?w=Pinetop%27s_Boogie_Woogie">Pinetop's Boogie Woogie</a>" featured rhythmic "<a href="page.php?w=break_%28music%29">break</a>s" that were an essential ingredient of <a href="page.php?w=ragtime">ragtime</a> music, but also a fundamental foreshadowing of <a href="page.php?w=rock_and_roll">rock and roll</a>.</p><p>
