<p>The <b>Redcliffe-Maud Report</b> (<b>Cmnd.4040</b>) was a 1969 command paper report from the <b>Royal Commission on Local Government in England</b>, under the chairmanship of <a href="page.php?w=Lord_Redcliffe-Maud">Lord Redcliffe-Maud</a>. The commission was formed in 1966 to examine the structure of local government in England outside of Greater London, and the 1969 report recommended a radical restructuring of councils in England. Its recommendations were broadly accepted by the <a href="page.php?w=Second_Wilson_ministry">Labour government</a>,</p><p>
