<p>A <b>region of interest</b> (often abbreviated <b>ROI</b>) is a sample within a <a href="page.php?w=data_set">data set</a> identified for a particular purpose. The concept of a ROI is commonly used in many application areas. Existing as a vicinity, or within one.
