<p><b>Cell adhesion molecules</b> (<b>CAMs</b>) are <a href="page.php?w=single-pass_transmembrane_protein">single-pass transmembrane protein</a>s, a subset of <a href="page.php?w=cell_membrane">cell membrane</a> proteins that are involved in the <a href="page.php?w=molecular_binding">binding</a> of cells with other cells or with the <a href="page.php?w=extracellular_matrix">extracellular matrix</a>, in a process called <a href="page.php?w=cell_adhesion">cell adhesion</a>.
