Routine travel from home to work and back is called <a href="page.php?w=commuting">commuting</a>, which is where the term comes from. A commuter town may be called by many other terms: "<b>bedroom community</b>" (Canada and northeastern US), "<b>bedroom town</b>", "<b>bedroom suburb</b>" (US), "<b>dormitory town</b>" (UK).
