It is a  colorless liquid that soluble in polar organic solvents.  It exists as the phosphine oxide, not the hydroxy <a href="page.php?w=tautomer">tautomer</a>.  A related compound is <a href="page.php?w=diphenylphosphine_oxide">diphenylphosphine oxide</a>.  Both are sometimes called secondary phosphine oxides.</p>
