<p><b>Figurative art</b>, sometimes written as <b>figurativism</b>, describes <a href="page.php?w=art">art</a>work (particularly paintings and sculptures) that is clearly derived from real object sources and so is, by definition, <a href="page.php?w=representation_%28arts%29">representational</a>. The term is often in contrast to <a href="page.php?w=abstract_art">abstract art</a>:</p>
