<p><b>Ktiv menuqad</b> ( , literally "writing with <a href="page.php?w=niqqud">niqqud</a>") is text in Hebrew supplemented with niqqud <a href="page.php?w=diacritic">diacritic</a>s. In modern Israeli orthography niqqud is rarely used, except in specialised texts such as dictionaries, poetry, or texts for children or for new immigrants.</p>
