There are two types of <a href="page.php?w=self-assembly">self-assembly</a>: <b>intermolecular</b> and <b>intramolecular</b>. Commonly, the term molecular self-assembly refers to the former, while the latter is more commonly called <a href="page.php?w=Folding_%28chemistry%29">folding</a>.</p><p>
