The szlachta (; ) were the hereditary noble estate in the Kingdom of Poland, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was the dominating social class in the Kingdom of Poland and the Commonwealth, which was exercising political rights and power.
